The Vancouver Rueda Festival, produced by Cuban Salsa Vancouver, will be taking place April 9-11, 2010. The weekend will bring a cultural explosion to Vancouver featuring live music and dance workshops with instructors from around North America including those from New York, San Francisco, and Oregon.
Weekend workshops will be taking place at the Scotia Bank Dance Centre and Masonic Hall in Vancouver and we'll be updating Bios of attending instructors shortly.
Weekend evening events will include Friday night at the Polish Community Center and Saturday and Sunday night events at Masonic Hall. We're very excited to have Puro Son performing on Saturday and Tanga on Sunday. These are musicians whose credits include playing alongside the world-famous Afro-Cuban All Stars. These bands will bring a great energy to the weekend where students and instructors alike will 'shake it' into the night.
Don't let the mountains and rain showers mislead you – under the cloud cover is a hot and steamy Cuban Salsa scene with lots of opportunities to shake it each and every week in and around the Vancouver area.
